Summary
HWProbe does not collect, store, or transmit personal data or hardware identifiers. All hardware tests run entirely in your browser. Only minimal anonymous recommendation events may be counted when an affiliate recommendation is shown or clicked.
What We Don't Collect
- No personal information (name, email, IP address)
- No hardware data (test results, device identifiers)
- No hardware-level usage analytics or behavioral tracking
- No cookies or local storage for tracking purposes
Recommendation Events
Affiliate and product-flow measurement is limited to event type, category, page slug, issue
code, offer/network, coarse action target, and timestamp. These first-party aggregate events
are sent through HWProbe's same-site /track/collect endpoint so we can calculate
aggregate diagnostic usage and outbound CTR. They do not include hardware IDs, test values,
audio, keystrokes, controller IDs, account data, raw referrers, or other personal information.
How the Tests Work
Each test uses standard browser APIs (Gamepad API, Web Audio API, MediaDevices API, Canvas API) to read your hardware state. All processing happens in JavaScript running on your device. No hardware readings are sent during testing.
Third-Party Services
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may collect standard web server logs (IP address, user agent, request URL) as part of their hosting infrastructure. HWProbe may use aggregate request counts for recommendation pixels, the same-site event endpoint, and transparent outbound pages, but does not store or join IP addresses, user agents, or hardware data for recommendation measurement. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.
HWProbe does not use Cloudflare Web Analytics as the source of truth for recommendation, affiliate, or revenue decisions. Those aggregate product signals use HWProbe's first-party event path and are read through the Akasha analytics stack.
Verification
You can verify HWProbe's privacy behavior by checking network requests in your browser's developer tools, reviewing the permissions each test asks for, or auditing the deployed JavaScript bundles locally.
